Eric’s fund

…directly supports cutting-edge research essential to discovering more effective treatments for tomorrow’s head and neck cancers. Eric would be thrilled that the research project being funded by our team is led by none other than his oncologist, Dr. Kartik Sehgal, and his former oncologist Dr. Jochen Lorch as a vital member of the research team. The current focus of their work is to develop more effective immunotherapies specifically targeting the unique needs of each head and neck cancer patient. As a team, we will be provided updates on how Eric’s fund is moving research forward through periodic meetings with principal investigator Dr. Sehgal, as well as comprehensive annual progress reports outlining programmatic advances.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 in five years. This is definitely achievable when you reflect on how as a first-year Jimmy Fund Walk team, Beyond Cancer raised $25,000! Beyond Cancer is extremely fortunate to have walkers, donors, fundraisers, and sponsors like you who believe that together we can support the research needed for a world free of cancer.

Thanks to your generosity to the Eric R. Rodriguez Fund for Head & Neck Cancer Research, you are helping Dana-Farber safely and effectively treat HNC today and develop cures for tomorrow. Eric’s fund is led under Eric’s former oncologist, Kartik Sehgal, MD, and in collaboration with Jochen Lorch, MD, and the HNC team at Dana-Farber. Eric’s fund is a new and innovative study focused on HNC patients whose disease has recurred after surgery or chemoradiation. The study will provide pembrolizumab to chemotherapy before surgery and then be treated with the immunotherapy drug for one year after surgery. This combination will help with long-term control and ultimately help promote survival rates. Your partnership and generous contributions are essential to making this possible. Thank you for helping us remember Eric in such a meaningful way and make a direct impact on the future of HNC patients everywhere!
